Our Name

Is the authentic Costa Rican shout used in folk songs and dances to express joy and brighten up the atmosphere. It is an intonation that seeks to stimulate the enthusiasm and cheer up the party. We give the same name to the gourmet coffee of Buena Vista del Rincón because its exceptional characteristic evokes that cry in the palate when you drink it.

About Us

Güipipía is a small roasting company of the Coffee Institute of Costa Rica (Instituto del Café de Costa Rica, ICAFE). We are a roaster that ensures the quality of the golden bean that characterizes Costa Rica. National roasting, coffee tasting, and barista experts have trained our staff achieving that our roasting profiles result in a very high quality gourmet product of Tarrazú and Valle Occidental, committed with the environment and the continuous improvement of its sustainable management; making efficient use of the resources through the execution and awareness of actions to reduce the carbon footprint. We contribute to conservation and regeneration of the Planet for future generations.

Value Proposition

Gourmet product that is based on respect for the pillars of sustainability throughout the entire production chain, being fair minded with our Country Brand. We seek to share our cups of gold grains with the world through a differentiated service and compliance with all legal and sanitary requirements in Costa Rica and the FDA.

Tarrazú Gourmet Coffee

Arabica species of the Tarrazú Region, produced at an average of 1500 meters above sea level. Its fragrance and aroma is floral jasmine; the process is honey. The dark roast has chocolate flavor descriptor and the medium roast has milk caramel flavor. It has a silky buttery aftertaste, medium to delicate body, with high acidity, for an exquisite balance between its fine acidity and delicate citrus, with sweet notes. The dark roast complemented by a chocolate finish.

Naranjo Gourmet Coffee

Arabica species from the Western Valley Region. Its fragrance and aroma is floral; the process is honey. The roast is medium with descriptor of black tea and silky aftertaste. Medium body and high acidity, citrus as tangerine. Its balance is exquisite between its fine acidity and delicate citrus, with molasses notes complemented by a fruity finish.

Peaberry Gourmet Coffee

Arabica species from the Tarrazú Region, fragrance and floral aroma of coffee flower; the process is honey. The medium roast with descriptor of dehydrated red berries and a silky aftertaste; medium body and high acidity, citrus as orange. Its balance is exquisite between its fine acidity and delicate citrus. It has a special condition: the round seed better concentrates its flavor and caramelization. Only one flower ovary is fertilized which causes the seed to obtain round characteristics for developing alone in the fruit, achieving superior hardness and density conditions that allows it to be kept in the roaster for longer obtaining less bitter coffee.

Packaging

All packaging has degassing valves to protect quality. They come in 1kg or 340g presentations; whole grain or ground.
